What you’ll see

Sohoton is a maze of lagoons, caves and limestone islets, reached by a long boat ride from Siargao, so it’s the earliest start and the longest day of all our tours.

  1. Sohoton Cove

The main lagoon, entered by small boat through a narrow opening in the rock. Inside it opens into still, clear water surrounded by limestone walls and forest.

  2. Jellyfish Sanctuary (seasonal)

A lagoon where stingless jellyfish gather in season, so you can swim among them. Their numbers change through the year: we tell you before you book whether they’re around.

  3. Magkukuob and Hagukan Cove

Two more of Sohoton’s sheltered coves and caves for swimming. Hagukan is named after the “snoring” sound (haguk) the water makes in the cave.

  4. Cliff jumping

Platforms over deep water for anyone who wants to jump. Watching from the boat is fine too.

  5. Lunch and the lakes

A boodle fight lunch, then Tiktikan Lagoon and Lake or Dagatan Lake and its floating cottage, depending on the route and conditions on the day.

Good to know

  • The jellyfish sanctuary is seasonal. We confirm whether the jellyfish are around before you book.
  • Drone shots aren’t included on Sohoton. Private groups get a free GoPro instead; shared guests can rent one.
  • It’s a long day on a boat. If you get seasick, bring motion sickness tablets and eat a light breakfast.
  • Private tours follow a similar route: Sohoton Cove, the jellyfish sanctuary in season, Magkukuob and Hagukan Cove, lunch at a floating cottage, then Nikiauit or Tiktikan Cove and the Dragon Slide or Dagatan.
  • Boat trips depend on sea conditions and coast guard advisories. If a trip can’t go ahead safely, we help you move to another date or switch to a different tour.

A shared (joiner) Sohoton tour costs ₱2,899 per person. A private boat costs ₱8,799 per person for 2 guests, down to ₱2,699 each for bigger groups, up to 12 guests. Prices include hotel pickup in General Luna, entrance and environmental fees, a guide and a boodle fight lunch with drinks.

Plan for 10 to 12 hours from hotel pickup to drop-off. Sohoton is on Bucas Grande Island, a separate island from Siargao, so the day includes a long boat ride each way. It’s the longest of our tours.

No. The stingless jellyfish are seasonal and their numbers change through the year. The rest of the tour runs year-round, weather permitting, and we tell you before you book whether the jellyfish are around for your dates.

Sugba Lagoon is closer, cheaper and easier, and comes as part of a land tour with Magpupungko Rock Pools. Sohoton is a bigger adventure: several lagoons and caves, cliff jumping and the jellyfish sanctuary in season, but a much longer day. Choose Sugba for an easy day with more variety, or Sohoton for the bigger adventure if you don’t mind the long boat ride.

Private Sohoton tours include a free GoPro for your group. On a shared tour you can rent a GoPro for ₱750 a day. Drone shots are not included on this tour.

Sohoton Cove is on Bucas Grande Island in the municipality of Socorro, Surigao del Norte, south-west of Siargao. We pick you up from your hotel in General Luna and arrange the boat there and back.
